Take A Tour Of Canada’s Capital Ottawa

The city of Ottawa, Canada's southeastern capital

If your touring through Eastern Canada definitely make it a point to visit Ottawa, Canada’s beautiful capital city. Ottawa is commonly described by locals as an environmentally friendly city that’s safe, quiet, and very clean. Although it’s not as big of a metropolis as Toronto or Montreal, Ottawa does share some of the same cultural advantages while managing to retain a small town feeling. I decided that by taking a bus tour of the city I could enjoy Ottawa’s charm and at the same time learn about it’s fascinating history. Continue Reading →

Exploring California’s Gold Country

Columbia State Historic Park

THERE’S GOLD IN THEM THAR HILLS! I’m referring, of course, to the hills along California’s historic highway 49 often referred to as Gold Rush Country. I’ve always been fascinated by the history of the miners and their quests for gold. So I decided it was high time that I take a road trip through the eastern California countryside to explore the old historic gold towns that were left behind. On this adventure I planned to visit mines, learn some history and even trying my hand at panning for gold. Maybe I’d get really lucky and find gold just like the early prospectors had! You might say I was already coming down with a touch of “gold fever”.

A First Timer’s Guide To Eastern Canada

View of Old Quebec City in Eastern Canada

What a country! People used to say this about the good ol’ USA but I’m referring to our friendly neighbors to the north, Canada. Last year I spent a week exploring the western part of Canada and this year I wanted to visit Eastern Canada. The two sides of Canada are equally beautiful, but the eastern side of Canada is unique in that it seems far more “European” than than its western half. The cities are intriguing and the countryside is simply beautiful. For this trip we’d be visiting the four eastern cities of Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City, and Montreal. But is one week enough time to really see them all? Continue Reading →

Make Niagara Falls Your Bucket List Destination

Boat Cruise At Niagara Falls

Whenever I’d ask people what’s on their travel bucket list, Niagara Falls seemed to be one of their top destinations. I had never been there and thought it was finally time to put it on my own bucket list. It was also time to see why Niagara Falls is regarded as one of the seven natural wonders of the world! I’ve seen many impressive waterfalls in my life, but there is definitely something very special about these falls that makes me understand why it’s earned such a highly regarded title. Plan A Snowboarding Trip To Park City Utah

Park City Utah

Utah has “The Greatest Snow on Earth.” That’s a pretty damn bold statement to make but in 1985 it was stamped on every single Utah license plate. In fact they still stick by that mantra so of course I had to test it out for myself. The only way to do so would be to plan a snowboarding weekend trip to Park City Utah to see if there was anything magical about their snow that could warrant such a bold claim.
