Snow Tubing Down A Winter Mountain

Tubing at Mammoth Mountain

Have you ever felt like you just got shot out of a circus cannon? You will if you try snow tubing at a place like Woolly’s Tube Park in Mammoth, California. I was shocked at just how much speed you can pick up on these runs. It’s remarkable. I’ve tubed and sledded before but nothing as cool and crazy as this. Let me tell you, it is definitely an adventure worth trying!

Try Indoor Skydiving In Las Vegas

Indoor Skydiving

It’s a bird. It’s a plane! Nope, it’s just another customer having fun at Vegas Indoor Skydiving. You too can feel what it’s like to fly like a bird as the wind whips your face into a permanent smile. But is it safe? Will I be able to fly the first time I try it? What if I get scared? These are all the questions I had when I decided to try indoor skydiving for the first time.

Attend Carpinteria’s Annual Avocado Festival

Avocado Festival Carpinteria

I love avocados! Especially when part of a sandwich, salad, and of course tacos. I had heard that you can sample all kinds of foods with avocados at the annual California Avocado Festival. If your feeling particularly brave you can try avocado ice cream! Well, that sounds disgusting but could be delicious, maybe? At the least it sounded like a foodie challenge I did not want to pass up. Apparently every October the quiet beachside town of Carpinteria comes to life with music and festivities to celebrate the importance of the avocado.

The Secret Treasures Of Crystal Cove State Park

Crystal Cove State Park

You might not be aware that there exists a pristine stretch of Southern California coastline whose clear offshore waters have been designated as a Marine Conservation area. The mysterious location I’m referring to is Crystal Cove State Park in Orange County, California. Nestled in between the more popular beaches of Laguna and Newport, it’s easy to miss this rugged piece of land and sea. I’m a native of Southern California and even I am guilty of bypassing this beach. It was only recently that I visited this state park which consists of 3.2 miles of beach and 2400 acres of undeveloped woodlands. On my first real trip to Crystal Cove State Park, I realized just what a gem of coastal beauty it is. I was so excited to finally discover the many ways to enjoy both the beach and the backcountry of Crystal Cove.

Running With The Dog Sledding Pack

Enjoy Dog Sledding in Whistler

Sometimes a great adventure can be the result of a totally spontaneous decision. Like when my brother Gabe decided to skip his second day of snowboarding in Whistler, British Columbia and instead try a day of dog sledding. He had tired himself out the previous day and decided to head to the village for some much needed relaxation. Although there are over 200 shops in the Whistler Village, Gabe has never been much of a shopper. He wandered around until he came across a kiosk in the village that had brochures advertising dog sledding tours. Willing to give it a try, he signed up and wound up experiencing an incredible and truly Canadian adventure.

Up, Up, And Away In A Hot Air Balloon

Hot Air Balloon

Okay, I’ve got something to admit. I have a small fear of heights. The fact that I’m on my way to be propelled up several thousands of feet into the sky is making my stomach churn. However, I’ve been told that a ride in a hot air balloon is nothing to be frightened of and is actually quite an enjoyable experience. So I’m headed out to Perris, CA to meet the balloon crew that will help me overcome my fear by participating in my very first hot air balloon ride.
