Boulders! Lots and lots of boulders. Huge round sandstone objects that come in endless interesting shapes and sizes. Some are small and some are gigantic. They come in all shades of colors like red, pink, grey and even yellow. Some are stacked one on top of another and some sit quietly by themselves. Where oh where could one find a place with boulders like this? In Joshua Tree National Park that’s where you’ll find them. Oh and the best thing is that you can climb all over them to your hearts content! Just like a little kid on a playground gym. Under, over, around and through! Come with me, I’ll show you.

Surviving The Half Dome Challenge
Hiking to the top of Half Dome is definitely a bucket list adventure that can be accomplished by the average hiker. Sometimes adventures can occur that are totally unplanned and of a complete surprise to us. These are usually spur-of-the-moment events that you can neither plan for nor predict when they will occur. An experience like this will usually catch us off guard, but if executed safely can fill our wonderful thirst for adventure, spark our imaginations and ignite our desires to continue exploring. This happened when two friends of mine and I were on the last day of a 3-day visit to Zion National Park in Utah.
